Kyle Marcelli Becomes an Ambasssador of YLC

(Toronto, Ontario) December 1st 2010 – (YLC) Your Life Counts is a registered charity leading the suicide prevention movement in Canada. Officially announced today, Kyle Marcelli, a Professional Racing Car Driver currently competing internationally in the American Le Mans Series has become an ambassador of the organization and is enthusiastic about developing the "Life's A Race – Start Your Engines" theme with YLC. Kyle saw this as a perfect synergy for his role with YLC.

The “Life’s A Race – Start Your Engines” theme will enable Kyle Marcelli to help generate greater public awareness and exposure for YLC. 15-24 youth die by suicide daily, 1 every 90 minutes, 434 in North America. 1,000,000 people each year worldwide. 83% of Canadians did not know that suicide is the second leading cause of death among our youth. The tragedy is most suicides are preventable and this is why Kyle wants to make a difference.

"We are excited and delighted to have the endorsement of Kyle Marcelli as an Ambassador for Your Life Counts - a major suicide prevention agency for youth and families in North America. Kyle's energy, passion and winning attitude on and off the race track is contagious. Life is a race and if we are serious about preventing suicide we need to start our engines now and recognize there is a major problem in our midst. With the help of Kyle we will be radically increasing our profile and also having some fun events to raise awareness and much needed funding. We're very grateful to Kyle for agreeing to take a pole position with an issue that so often gets swept under the carpet. Welcome to the YLC family Kyle!" - Rory Butler Founder of YLC.

“I’m very happy and energetic to be apart of the YLC family, I see this as a long term relationship and an ever growing venture for what is a well deserved and under recognized cause. Each time I speak with Rory or those within YLC, my heart is saddened by what is “real”, this stuff happens, many times in which could have been prevented. I’m eager to help extend a greater public awareness and work for change”. - Kyle Marcelli
